Description:
Highland villager possibly of the Simbu (Chimbu) Province paint half of their bodies with black charcoal mixed with pig's grease. The other half is painted with orange or gray clay. Men are nude except for a waist band and, a phallocrypt (covering for the penis with a large cowrie shell). Crossing leis of small white chicken feathers decorate their chests and headbands. Women of the group wear the same face painting but their headdresses vary.
