Title:
Red Haired man (Deficiency), Outriggers, Mangrove Areas
Place:
Trobriand Group, Kumwegeia Village, Papua New Guinea
Description:
A man with reddish hair (revealing a deficiency) sits along the shore of a small bay with several canoes. Large rooted mangrove trees jut out into the water from the land.

A red—haired man sits next to his outrigger canoe at the edge of the Solomon Sea. He lives in the small village of Kumwegeia, on Kitawa Island, one of the small Trobriand Group, on the east coast of Milne Bay Province in the Solomon Sea. The water level is low, limiting visitors or traders to the island. The forest covers from the shore and up the mountains.
