Grilling Fish on a Metal Wire.
Trobriand Group, Kumwegeia Village, Papua New Guinea
Filets and heads of fish are laid on a chain link and wooden frame over a fire. Two fish heads face toward the photographer.

In Kumewegeia Village on the Kitawa Island, one of the Trobriands group, fish are grilling on a metal and tree—limb construction along the water's edge. As the Melanesian Discoverer traveled through the island groups, islanders would run their outrigger canoes alongside ship and sell their wares.
