An Okiufa man from the Asaro area of the Eastern Highlands is wearing his dancing costume. Headdress is typically layered. Close to his brow are a head band of iridescent green scarab beetle wings with hanging dried flowers. Above is a second head band of blue flowers centered with a white shell. A third layer of the headdress is a white skin of either the tree kangaroo or a cuscus mammal. White wing feathers from the Palm cockatoo centered with orange parrot feathers. The top of the headdress is surrounded with cassowary plumes. Trade beads hang as a lacey scarf on his neck with a large kina shell underneath. He carries a black palm bow and a bundle of arrows.
