Description:
A young Highlander displays his multi—layered crown of feathers, supported by a brow band woven from palm leaves and adorned with small mosses, like those on his arms. Small orange cover his forehead. Very tall tail feathers of the Black Sickle—billed bird of paradise are interspersed with shorter shocks of straw. At his neck are strands of cowrie shells and brown seeds. On one cheek, he has yellow paint and on the other bright red. His nose has a yellow streak down the middle and across the nostrils, outlined in the red of his cheek.
