Heloxycanus Dugdale, 1994 Endemic New Zealand genus with a single species in the southern South Island of New Zealand fist discovered by Brian Patrick. Easily distinguished from other New Zealand genera by tripectinate antennae and adult color pattern. Restricted to sphagnum and other moss bogs from sea level to alpine zone. Peak emergence of adults occurs in odd-numbered years. Conservation value: High. Member of the autumn/winter emerging wetland biota.
