The Ice Age and its Aftermath
Resarch and exploration of Western New York's last 13,000 years
Research Scientist: Dr. Richard Laub | When a farmer in Genesee County, New York, dug up large bones and teeth on his land in 1959, he called on experts at the Buffalo Museum of Science to identify what he knew had not come from a domesticated animal. These mastodon bones were only the first treasure unearthed at the site, where, for the past 23 years, museum staff and volunteers have been searching for additional fossils and artifacts at the annual "Byron Dig." | |
