Community Programs

All of the local community efforts of the Buffalo Museum of Science (BMS) fall under the umbrella of Science in the City (SITC). There are several components to the SITC initiative.
SITC programs are generously supported by the Peter C. Cornell Trust.
BRANCHED OUTProgramming at city branch libraries allowing children ages 3-10 the chance to learn through “doing, talking, reading, and writing about science.” |

Centered on Science (COS)The Buffalo Museum of Science offers after-school programs in various community centers throughout the city of Buffalo. SITC partners receive weekly 60 – minute science based lessons and activities. |

SCIENCE CAMP SCHOLARSHIPSPartial scholarships are available for our science camps. These awards are based on need and availability of funds. |

TEEN SKILLS INITATIVETSI is a program for urban high school minority girls. TSI Participants are given the opportunity to work with children through our outreach and Museum based programming. |
