Overnights at the Buffalo Museum of Science

Leaders - bring your group of boys and girls for an overnight CAMP-IN and explore and experience the Museum at night! Enjoy a fun-filled experience including hands-on science, crafts,
a night time snack, a movie, breakfast and access to all of the museum's permanent exhibits.
This is edu-tainment at its best!

Activities may fulfill NYS Science Standards or Scout-related requirements.

Science Magic

What do air, paper and people have in common? They are all things you can use to do fun and magical science that will amaze your friends! Imagine lifting someone into the air using your breath or making a paper hole big enough for you to fit your body through. These activities and more are all part of the fun.
 

Grades 1-6
Dates: March 3-4, 2012
March 31 - April 1, 2012
Times: Saturday - Sunday, 5:30 PM – 9:00 AM
Location: Museum

Crime Investigation

Spend the night at the Museum and help investigate a mystery while gaining an understanding of how police officers and scientists solve crimes. Activities include: learning how to identify and lift fingerprints, understanding how the makeup of a marker’s color can help identify which marker a suspect used to write a note, and learning that a person’s foot length is related to their height. These activities and more are all part of the fun.
 

Grades: 2-6
Dates:  February 11-12, 2012
March 10-11, 2012

FETCH Science

If you like to solve brain-teasers, you’ll love Fetch Science! You'll team up to exercise your problem-solving skills to solve science challenges including:

  • Creating a gooey solid by combining different liquids
  • Balancing a see-saw using physics
  • Designing a tinfoil boat and testing how many pennies it can hold without sinking

These activities and more are all part of the fun.

Music Music Music! Camp-In

Matt James (of Cool Music for KIDS) and friends present a program designed to enable you to listen to music, dance to music, and play music! Activities include writing a song, learning to conduct, playing homemade instruments, studying instrument groups, and more! These activities and more are all part of the fun.

Grades: 1-6
Dates: January 28-29, 2011
April 21-22, 2012
Times: Saturday - Sunday, 5:30 PM – 9:00 AM
