FETCH Science Camp-In

March 24-25, 2012
5:30 pm - 9:30 am
$30/Scout, $16/Adult

If you like to solve brain-teasers, you'll love Fetch Science. Join our team and use your problem-solving and teamwork skills to solve science challenges that are showcased in the Fetch television series. Some of the activities cover 1 requirement each for the Brownie Animals, Senses, My Body, Building Art, and Science Wonders Try-Its and Junior Science Sleuth, Making it Matter, and Wildlife Badges. A night time snack, crafts, video, and breakfast are all part of the fun.

Crime Investigation Camp-In

April 14-15, 2012
5:30 pm - 9:30 am
$30/Scout, $16/Adult
Spend the night at the Museum and help investigate a mystery while gaining an understanding of how police officers and scientists solve crimes. Activities include: learning how to identify and lift fingerprints, understanding how the makeup of a marker's color can help identify which marker a suspect used to write a note, and learning that a person's foot length is related to their height. A night time snack, crafts, video, and breakfast are all part of the fun.

JUNIORS

Get Moving Journey Workshop

April 11th, 2012
1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
$13/Scout
Understand energy systems by learning how to calculate your average eco-footprint, determine the amount of energy of different light bulbs, and build a wind turbine. Making a bead necklace and recycled paper are also part of the fun. A previous discussion of things that use power and the concept of recycling should be conducted by the Troop leader prior to the workshop.

JUNIORS, CADETTES, & SENIORS

Chemical Concoctions Workshop

October 15, 2011
10:00 am - 3:00 pm
$15/Scout

Everything in the world is made of chemical elements. Why not learn about basic principles and create some cool concoctions at the same time? Sample physical, biological, analytical, organic, and inorganic chemistry in this lab intensive session. It's truly "reactionary"!

CADETTES & SENIORS

Space Exploration: Out of Sight! Workshop

November 6, 2011
10:00 am - 3:30 pm

In your lifetime, you may visit a base station on the moon... or engineer innovations to the International Space Station... or find life on Mars. Join us to investigate "where we've been" and where we might go in the future, astronomically speaking. Examine the physics that make these things possible. Launch your own rocket (weather permitting). It's really "a trip" you don't want to miss.
