Behind-the-Scenes Collections Tour (Adults Only): Geology Rocks!

Did you know the Museum houses over 700,000 specimens in our collection, or that a significant part of the collection pertains to the Greater Niagara Region? Get behind-the-scenes to see what few have seen and explore our research, special, and teaching collections in themed tours taking place throughout the month. Tours are approximately 2 hours in length.

Holmes! What kind of rock is this? Sedimentary, my dear Watson. Learn why this and other CoRn Y jokes are funny by investigating the Museum’s Geology Collection. What you see on display is just the tip of the iceberg. Come behind the scenes and see the rock cycle, marvel at our minerals and discover our large fossil collection.

Basic Dissection Discoveries | Sheep Heart

Investigate and explore the inner workings of organisms around us! Try your hand at an advanced level dissection in the Human Lab Workshop lead by one of the Museum's education facilitators. This month, we will be dissecting Sheep Heart!

Dissection Discovery Workshops
Crime Investigation Camp-In
Saturday, February 10, 2018 06:00pm - 09:00am 

Campers will help investigate a mystery while gaining an understanding of how police officers and scientists solve crimes. Campers will learning how to identify and lift fingerprints, understand how the makeup of a marker’s color can help identify which marker a suspect used to write a note and analyze similar looking substances to determine which one was part of the crime.
