Star Lab Outreach

DIGGING DINOSAURS

Students play paleontologists as they examine the fossilized teeth, horns, and claws of various dinosaurs to learn about the unique adaptations of these ancient beasts! Grades PreK-2. MST 1,4,5,6 / SS 1,3

AMAZING ARTHROPODS:
Insects and their Relatives


Explore insect and bug anatomy and the fascinating behaviors of these creepy and crawly inhabitants of the natural world. Grades PreK-2. MST 1,4,6 / SS 1,3

HEALTHY HABITS

Students will learn the basics of a healthy lifestyle. Teeth brushing, hand washing, healthy eating, and exercising will all be covered through hands-on, interactive activities. Grades PreK-5. MST 1,4,5,7

IT'S ELECTRIC

Students will learn about electricity by building circuits using lights and switches and testing for conductors and insulators. Grades K-6. MST 1,2,4,6,7 / Arts 1,2,3,4

CRIME INVESTIGATION

Students will determine chemical reactions by examining the properties of matter, classify finger prints and match them to evidence, and use the science of chromatography to interpret inks. Grades 3-8. MST 1,2,4,5,6,7

SCIENCE BELOW ZERO**

Learn about molecules, phase changes, explosions, pressure, and density through engaging demonstrations using liquid nitrogen. Grades 3-8. This program has a materials fee. MST 1,4,6

SCIENCE MAGIC**

Explore the "magic" of physics, biology, ecology and chemistry through topics such as light theory, pressure, polymers, chemical reactions, and biological phenomenon. Grades 3-12. This program has a materials fee. MST 1,4

COMPARATIVE ANATOMY DISSECTIONS

Choose from our wide selection of specimens and give your students a unique hands-on experience to deconstruct and investigate body systems as well as to analyze how structure relates to function and evolution. Grades 4-12. Additional lab fees apply, must be booked a minimum of 4 weeks in advance. MST 1,4 Appendix A

EVENING

And additional mileage fee will be added for round trip travel.

**Notes program can also be done as Assembly Program.

Capacity & Program Length

Due to the hands-on and interactive nature of our programs and to ensure the best possible quality experience, we ask that you respect our class size limits.

Pre-K Programs:
Limit: 20 students
30-45 minutes

All Other Grades:
Limit: 30 students
45-60 minutes

If limits are exceeded, an additional fee of $85 (daytime program) or $100 (evening/weekend program) will be added.
