Our school break Discovery Camps offer quality counselors, a variety of educational themes and most of all - fun!


CAMP HOURS: All camps run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.


REGISTRATION: Register online or call 716.896.5200 x306; Registration required at least one (1) week to camp start date. A camp medical form will be sent prior to the start of camp. It must be filled out and returned with a current immunization record to Mollie Wincott by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. LATE PICK-UP: 4:30-5:30 p.m.; $8 per 30 minutes per day (must be arranged at time of booking).

Week 1, June 25-29

  • Superhero Science | Ages 5-12

    $225

    If you could have any superpower what would it be? Join us as you transform yourself into a superhero and harness the power of the natural world. Explore the physics of flight and the strength behind spider webs, and design your own superhero gadget to take on the world!

  • Egyptian Adventures | Ages 5-6

    $180

    Travel back to the days of Ancient Egypt and discover the wonders of the Nile. Campers will learn about life in the Egyptian world, from the high society pharaohs to the lowly workers. We will explore Egyptian foods, games, artwork and architecture.

    Ever wonder why some things crack, pop or explode when you mix them together? Campers will have a fizz, bang, fabulous time learning about states of matter, elements and some very cool chemical reactions.

  • Science of the Deep | Ages 10-12

    Explore the depths and discover the chemistry, physics and biology of the oceans. Experiment with the properties of water and investigate the kinds of animals that live beneath the surface. This camp includes dissections.

  • Ocean Explorers | Ages 5-6

    Dive into one of the Earth’s most mysterious places: the ocean! Investigate different marine environments, and learn about the chemistry and physics of the deep. Make waves and explore the properties that make water so special.

  • Forgotten Worlds | Ages 7-9

    Explore the ancient cultures of the world. Campers will dive deep into the civilizations of the Egypt, China, Mesopotamia and even the Vikings! Activities will cover traditional art, architecture, games, writing systems and more.

  • Junior Vet | Ages 10-12

    For animal enthusiasts! Come learn the basic skills in working with live creatures, such as animal husbandry, handling and basic medical care. Children will also work through their own veterinary case study, participate in a dissection and practice suturing. Your budding veterinarian won’t want to miss this!

  • Where the Wild Things Roam | Ages 5-6

    Explore the habitats of the world and learn how animals depend on them for food and shelter. Through activities like sensory exploration, discovery hikes, games, crafts and nature sketching, your camper will develop an appreciation for the natural world.

    Join Museum staff and future friends in exploring habitats around the world and those animals that call it home. From rainforests and deserts, to mountains and seas -- no corner of the globe is off limits. Look at some exotic animals in the Museum’s collections, have a Museum backyard safari and more!
