Tifft Self-Guided Discovery Kits
You and your students will discover nature’s mysteries and urban local history as you venture through Tifft’s trails using self-guided Discovery Kits. We’ll provide the tools and themed activities to encourage student-directed inquiry. Trek at your own pace, observe nature’s spontaneity, and weave your teachings into our activities.

SENSORY EXPLORATIONS
Get the most from your visit to Tifft Nature Preserve by using your eyes, ears, nose, and sense of touch to discover the natural world. This program encourages students to expand their understanding of nature through the use of their senses. We’ll provide a digital camera so you can capture the beauty of the seasons and the natural magic of Tifft Nature Preserve.
Grades 3 – 8
ANIMAL AND PLANT ADAPTATIONS
Students learn how the plants and animals that inhabit Tifft Nature Preserve adapt to their environment through behavior and evolution.
HABITAT IS WHERE IT’S AT
Explore the different habitats of Tifft Nature Preserve including fields, woods, wetlands, lakes, and thickets. Study how each unique environment is able to provide the basic needs for the creatures that live there.
