You and your students will discover nature’s mysteries and urban local history as you venture through Tifft’s trails using self-guided Discovery Kits. We’ll provide the tools and themed activities to encourage student-directed inquiry.

Grades Pre-K – 2
SENSORY EXPLORATIONS
Get the most from your visit to Tifft Nature Preserve by using your eyes, ears, nose, and sense of touch to discover the natural world. This program encourages students to expand their understanding of nature through the use of their sense.
Grades 3 – 8
ANIMAL AND PLANT ADAPTATIONS
Students learn how the plants and animals that inhabit Tifft Nature Preserve are adapted to their environment.
HABITAT IS WHERE IT’S AT
Explore the different habitats of Tifft Nature Preserve including the lake, fields, woods, wetlands, and ponds. Study how each unique environment is able to provide the basic needs for the organisms that live there.
