Collections Live: Herbarium – a Botanical Legacy
October 6 @ 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 12:30 pm on Thursday, repeating indefinitely
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at a museum? Museums take care of ‘collections’ – but what does that mean? Collections LIVE is a new initiative to turn the museum ‘inside-out’! Previously backstage activities will be taking place in public spaces – check out what goes into cataloging a collection, meet some of the staff and volunteers who’ve chosen this work as a career, bring your questions and we’ll work together to find the answers.
Collections Live: Herbarium – a Botanical Legacy is every Thursday from 12:30pm to 3:30pm on the Museum’s fourth floor (stair access only). Fascinated by flora? Discover one of the oldest herbaria in the nation, and witness how museum professionals curate and expand this vast botanical treasure.
No pre-registration required, activity is ongoing.
Cost: Included with Museum admission, and free for members.
Age: All ages
