Conversations In Science: Cancer Vaccines

August 28, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Vaccines are growing in availability for the treatment of cancer. By harnessing the power of the immune system, experts right here in Buffalo and around the world are developing new vaccine approaches for both preventing and treating cancer. With any new treatment comes many questions: How do these vaccines work? What cancers can be prevented with vaccines? What cancers benefit more from vaccine therapy?

The Buffalo Museum of Science hosts a conversation on the developing science behind cancer vaccines. This event is a community panel discussion featuring Doctoral candidates from Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Panelists include:

  • Shivana Lightman: PhD candidate in Immunology
  • John Lewis Etter: MD/PhD candidate in Cancer Prevention and Control
  • Ashley Stenzel: PhD candidate in Cancer Prevention and Control

Cost: FREE with Museum Admission
