National Engineers Week

Join the Buffalo Museum of Science to celebrate National Engineers Week, sponsored by Northrup Grumman, Wednesday, February 17 to Sunday, February 21!

National Engineers Week, or “EWeek”, is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.

To celebrate, the Buffalo Museum of Science is offering live engineering demonstrations through the Museum and offering take-home activities for all guests! Grab your free EWeek materials kit upon entering the Museum and tour our three open floors for engineering demonstrations and activity instructions to explore engineering at home with your kit.

Topics that will be explored include:

  • Static Electricity – Check out a Static Electricity Racing activity HERE!
  • Boats and Buoyancy – Check out a “Float your Boat” activity HERE!
  • Flight and Biomimicry – Check out a Paper Helicopter activity HERE!
  • Sound Waves – Check out a “Sound Sandwich” activity HERE!
  • Ancient Engineering – Check out a DIY Catapult activity HERE!

Materials and activities are included with admission and supplies are limited. Admission must be purchased in advance of your visit either online or by phone at 716.896.5200.

Dedicated to raising public awareness of engineers’ positive contributions to quality of life, EWeek promotes recognition among parents, teachers, and students of the importance of a technical education and a high level of math, science, and technology literacy, and motivates youth, to pursue engineering careers in order to provide a diverse and vigorous engineering workforce.
