BUFFALO, NY (October 4, 2017) – The Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences, which governs both the Buffalo Museum of Science and Tifft Nature Preserve, announced today the appointment of Kathy Glieco to its Board of Managers for the 2017/2018 fiscal year.

Glieco is the vice president of marketing at Independent Health, where she is responsible for strategic planning, marketing strategy and product positioning. She serves as president of the Board of Trustees for Mount St. Mary Academy and also serves on its Marketing Committee. She formerly served on the Parents Board at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and was co-chair of the Mount St. Mary Academy annual fundraising auction. She also previously served on the Marketing Committee of the American Red Cross and the Scholarship Opportunity Fund Committee for Leadership Buffalo.

“Independent Health is a fantastic partner to the Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences, and we are thrilled to evolve this relationship with the appointment of Ms. Glieco,” says Marisa Wigglesworth, president and CEO, Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences. “With her deep business acumen and marketing expertise, Kathy will no doubt be an asset to the Board and the Society.”

The appointment comes on the heels of the Board of Manager’s approval of the Buffalo Museum of Science’s new 2018-2020 strategic plan, which is centered around the Museum’s commitment to raising the level of science literacy and engagement for all in Western New York. The plan outlines new programming and initiatives that will expand the Museum’s impact on local families, adults, teens and the Museum’s East Side neighbors.
