Conversations in Science: Environment, Justice, and Population

March 10, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Speaker: Sarah Baillie, Population & Sustainability Organizer, Center for Biological Diversity.

Description: How can rights-based solutions help support positive environmental impact?  Historic and present-day atrocities have been carried out in the name of environmentalism and population control. In fact, many environmentalists choose to skirt issues of population pressure for just that reason.

If we don’t talk about population, we miss a chance to push back against harmful rhetoric and promote just and equitable solutions focused on supporting human rights, like education and empowerment of women. Join us March 10 for a VIRTUAL Conversations in Science with the Center for Biological Diversity.

To submit questions in advance, please email [email protected].

Cost: Free! Register in advance for Zoom link.

Conversations in Science, presented by RP Oak Hill Building Company, offers scientists and researchers an opportunity to informally chat with the community about trending science topics.
