Get ready to ROCK ┃ RATTLE┃ ROLL at the Buffalo Museum of Science! Join us for a day of music and dance with hands-on science activities and demonstrations throughout the Museum.
Discover the movement of seismic waves, decorate your own rattle, create your own Javanese shadow puppet and learn how cicadas sing! With four floors of activities and musical performances throughout the day, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

About the Artists
- Nusantara Arts – Buffalo Gamelan Sari Raras Irama joins the Museum for two special performances. Gamelan music, from the island of Java in Indonesia is one of the oldest continuously played musical art forms in the world.
- Directed by Griffin Brady, the Slyboots Drum Ensemble features master musicians and performers from around the world for a uniquely inspiring and utterly show-stopping experience. Featured instruments include; djembe, dun dun, talking drum, Gyil (West African Xylophone) and more!
- As a solo classical guitarist Joseph Mahfoud has spent a lifetime studying with some of the world’s finest performers. Joseph’s repertoire ranges from Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, to Brazilian, to virtuoso arrangements of pop tunes. He is an educator, developing the largest guitar program in New York State for Tapestry Charter School and session player.
- Anthony Kelly performs cinematic rock music. You’ll love this instrumental guitar performance full of progression movement and epic dynamics.
