We can be adults about this, right??
Get ready for a night of drinks and tantalizing topics at Science After Hours: The Birds & the Bees! This 21 and over event takes a deep dive into the fascinating—and sometimes downright bizarre—world of mating, reproduction, and biodiversity. Discover zany mating rituals, explore intoxicating pheromones of the bug world, talk with community partners about their “sexy” fields of work, and more!
Some of our special guests and experiences include:
- At 7 and 8 p.m., Science After Hours guests can head to the temporary exhibit gallery for In the Mood for Answers: Q&A with René Jones, LMFT, MSEd, MS (bio)
“Why doesn’t my partner ever seem to be in the mood?” “How do we spice things up?” “What does my anxiety have to do with it?”
Join Rene Jones for an open, judgment-free Q&A conversation where curiosity is welcomed and questions are encouraged. Whether you’re seeking insight into communication, intimacy, desire, or navigating life with a partner, this Q&A session offers real talk and expert insights. Feeling a little shy? Your questions can be submitted anonymously prior to each session, or you can speak privately with Rene before or after her talks during the Science After Hours event. - At 6:45, 7:30, or 8:15 p.m., add our handsy—err, we mean hands-on—Deflowering Dissection workshop to your night for $10 a person and take a meticulous look at both male and female parts of your own flower specimen.
Whether you’re single, coupled, or just wildly curious, come enjoy a provocative evening of hands-on activities, intriguing discussions, and access to all four floors of museum exhibits — it might just change some of the ways you see the natural world.
Tickets: $29 general admission; $39 with Deflowering Dissection activity (limited spots available!)
