Superpower Dogs Marathon with Paws for Love, SPCA of Erie County
August 24, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Buffalo Museum of Science is warming up for #InternationalDogDay with Paws for Love – A Program of the SPCA Serving Erie County and an all-day Superpower Dogs 3D marathon!
Catch a showing of the new 3D movie, Superpower Dogs and experience the life-saving superpowers and extraordinary bravery of some of the world’s most amazing dogs. In this inspiring true story narrated by Chris Evans, follow ‘Halo’, a rookie puppy training to join one of the most elite disaster response teams in America. Meet ‘Henry’, an avalanche rescue expert in the mountains of British Columbia, ‘Reef’, a Newfoundland lifeguard with the Italian coastguard, ‘Ricochet’, a Californian surf legend helping people with special needs, and the Bloodhound brothers, ‘Tipper and Tony’, who are leading the fight to save endangered species in Africa.
But there are four-legged heroes all around us, even right here in WNY!
Volunteers and local VIP’s (very important pups) from Paws for Love, A Program of the SPCA Serving Erie County will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a special meet and greet. The SPCA Serving Erie County’s PAWS FOR LOVE Program provides animal therapy and community outreach by 500+ SPCA volunteers and their pets. These dogs and their human partners use their superpowers in our community at nursing homes, assisted living facilities, courts, group homes, Hospice locations, children’s facilities and even the Buffalo/Niagara International Airport.
