Wayang Puppet Show and Gamelan Performance

Nusantara Arts presents ““Rajasuya! The Great or Evil Offering of 100 Kings,” Wayang Puppet Show and Gamelan Performance at the Buffalo Museum of Science.

Wayang kulit is a traditional form of puppet-shadow play from the cultures of Java and Bali in Indonesia. Wayang kulit performances are traditional and wildly popular multi-genre performances still practiced today on Java. They combine virtuosic shadow puppetry, enrapturing gamelan music, comedy, philosophy, and civic engagement. Performances in Java are normally 8 hours; this event will be scaled to a 2-hour feast for the senses.

Doors open 4:30pm | Performances 5:00 – 7:00pm
