The Buffalo Museum of Science’s STEM Days offer hands-on, inquiry-based activities centered on particular themes. Students will encounter new concepts, make connections, and gain a better understanding of the world around them. Take a self-guided visit through themed activities.

Limited Availability: Book Early!

The Buffalo Museum of Science's special STEM Day programs are one of our most popular offerings for school groups. Since they are only offered on select days each year, we encourage you to make your reservation as early as possible as they do fill up quickly.

If you can't make a theme day date, we encourage you to speak to our group sales representative on how to provide equally entertaining and educational experiences to your group through our workshops and outreach programs.

Jump back to the Jurassic and explore a time when it was eat or be eaten, from where Dinosaurs roamed and what foods they thrived on to what ultimately caused their demise. Suggested grades K - 2


December 9, 2016
Explore the science of below freezing temperatures. Learn how various animals withstand the cold and adapt to a changing world. Suggested grades 2-8

One of the most dynamic and complex forces on the planet, weather is an ever changing phenomenon. Explore National Geographic’s Extreme Weather, numerous thought provoking demonstrations and hands-on activities to have students gain an understanding of the principle concepts of weather systems. Through creative problem solving, students will design and build a variety of open-ended projects to help solve real world problems. Through visual demonstrations, hands-on activities and interactive talks the world of physics and engineering collide. Suggested grades 4-8
